The Election '98 coverage was a tremendous undertaking. The goal was to create a refreshing and informative politics site that had the ability to be updated regularly and quickly, be flexible enough to grow and accomodate content before, during and after the election, and be easy to navigate between all races on the local and national levels.
There was a strong request to stay away from the typical red, white and blue color motif and attempt to create a theme that was original and different from any other election coverage.
I developed a versatile logo and color palette. I chose a red, green and yellow theme, and incorporated the recognizeable iconography of the American flag - stars and stripes.
