This feature, designed for Fox News Health, was an indepth look at heroin detoxification, a risky last resort, but lifesaving measure, for those suffering from heroin addiction. We followed one man's journey to freedom.
Because of this bleak topic, the design was kept very minimalist. I created a conceptual illustration to represent the act of "shooting up", an arm outstretched accepting the drug. This illustration became the overall identity for the story. It allowed us to depend less on overly graphic and somewhat morbid photographs of junkies, and depend more on the simple words of the story.
